Aran cafetiere cosy from the angry triangle

Knit yourself a quick and easy Cafetiere Cosy with this simple pattern. Perfect if you are just getting started with aran cables. Try this for a quick guide to cable work!

Tension  10 stitches to approx. 5cms  (2ins)

Measurements  4ins wide, 12ins long.

Materials

1 100gm ball Aran wool

Pair 5.5mm (UK 5) needles

Cable needle

2 buttons

Crochet hook

Abbreviations

K. knit;    P. purl;     Sts  stitches

CB4 Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at back of work, k2, k2 from cable needle

CF4 Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at front of work, k2, k2 from cable needle

Instructions

Cast on 20 sts.

Row 1   k.1, p.1, k.1, p.3, k.8, p.3, k.1, p.1, k.1

Row 2   p.1, k.1, p.1, k.3, p8., k.3, p.1, k.1, p.1

Row 3   p.1, k.1, p.1, k.1, p.2, CB4, CF4, p.2, k.1, p.1, k.1, p.1

Row 4   k.1, p.1, k.1, p.1, k.2, p.8, k.2, p.1, k.1, p.1, k.1

These 4 rows form the pattern. Repeat another 15 times.

Cast off in pattern.

Work single chain using crochet hook sufficient to make three button loops; attach at top, middle and bottom of Cafetiere Cosy. Sew on buttons to fasten.
